Believe Summer’s Almost Here?
At long last, the Summer season is in sight. Strap on those inline skates,
hop back on the bike, and get ready to take the outdoors by storm. Get ready
for our exciting Summer programs by checking out the West Shore Rec
Commission's
website this weekend.
Summer Recreation Guide
The brochure was mailed to recent participants and the mailing list on May
1st. Printed copies are also available at area libraries and municipal
offices. You can also download a copy of the guide from the website or view
activity details and enrollment openings on our ActiveNet site. Registration
begins on Tuesday, May 6th at 8:30 a.m. You can
register online, by telephone, walk-in or
by mail.

Golf Tournament
West

Summer Camps
School
will be out soon and it won't be long until boredom sets in. Consider a
structured recreation camp for your child. Full-day PlayZone begins on
June 10 and half-day Summer Blast begins June 16.

Spring into Action!
Now is the time to
enroll in one of the many activities that are set to begin during the spring
season. Treat yourself to a fitness or wellness class or other enjoyable
activity that may help you get in shape for summer activities such as golf,
tennis, gardening and walking.
Check out the activities listed below or
go online to see
everything available this spring. The website provides extra information
about some activities, links to resources, and fill-in registration forms.
There are activities for all ages and abilities -- there is one for you!
Active Wellness
New sessions are
starting for a variety of fitness options -- from exercise classes to yoga
to ballroom dancing.
Teens: check out the new Junior Ballroom class just for you and just
in time for the prom!

PlayZone Day Camp:
Primary Zone, Secondary Zone, O-Zone and X-Zone
A structured full-day recreation camp for ages 5 to 14. Located at Fishing
Creek Elementary and Crossroads Middle Schools.
Summer Blast : A
morning of playground games, activities and crafts in an outdoor setting for
ages 6-12 years. Located at Roof Park and Rossmoyne Elementary School.

Red Land Senior Center Re-opens!
Grand Opening Celebration
The renovations are
done and the building is ADA compliant. All ages are invited to come
celebrate the new location and the restoration of full service to the Red
Land area community. Tour the facility and enjoy refreshments and giveaways.
Meet the staff and some of your local and state elected-officials. The
Thrift Shop will also be open for browsing and business.

Daddy-Daughter Dance
Last day to register is Friday, February 8th
Delight that special little girl who has won your heart to a night of
dancing and one-on-one time. Dads, treat your daughter (grades K-8) to
dancing, flowers, games, prizes, refreshments and more to make your evening
together a lasting memory.
Registration deadline is February 8.

West Shore Rec
offered drawing for prizes for those who completed their account by December
31st and to those who enrolled online January 2nd -4th. Prizes

Mailing Information
The
mailing procedure was changed for the summer and fall seasons to reduce paper waste and money.
Instead of mailing to every household in the service area
(West Shore School
District excluding Wormleysburg Borough), the Commission uses addresses
from its database and in-house mailing list. You may add your name to the
list by calling 920-9515. As always, the entire brochure and more is available
at
www.westshorerec.org.

Refund Policy*
For multi-session activities:
Attend an activity on the
first date; if you find it’s not right for you, a refund will gladly be
processed as long as you contact the recreation office prior to the
second meeting date of the activity. Refunds are subject to a $5
administrative fee.
For one-day
activities: Contact the
recreation office prior to the meeting date of the activity. Refunds are
subject to a $5 administrative fee. A refund is not available after the
activity has occurred.
For trips:
If you must cancel from a trip,
notify West Shore Rec at least 14 days before a trip to receive a
refund. After that, a refund will only be given if a replacement can be
found. Refunds are subject to a $5 administrative fee.

In an effort to be considerate of all who partake of West Shore Rec
activities, a standard of conduct has been established. Anyone who
enrolls in an activity agrees to abide with the rules.

Online Registration

Please note:
- There is a convenience fee to register online, the minimum being $2.
- A confirmation of your registration will be e-mailed to you.
- Should an activity be canceled due to low enrollment, West Shore Rec
will refund the cost of the activity and the convenience fee.
- Persons who accidentally enroll twice in the same activity online will
receive a refund less the $5 refund administrative fee.
