West Shore Rec hires program instructors and lifeguards throughout the year. Prior to the summer season, numerous camp counselors and additional lifeguards are hired as well.

Day Camp Counselors - 2026
All positions filled for summer 2026
Highland Elementary School
-
Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am-5:15 pm (8-8.5 hour shift)

Plan & implement structured activities for ages 6-8 or 9-12

Approximately 40 hours per week, June - August

Recreation/Education majors preferred, not required
-
Starting Rate: $13-$14/hour

Summer Blast Counselors - 2026

Roof Park, Fairview Township

Monday thru Friday, 8:45 am-12:15 pm, June 15-July 31

Plan & implement structured activities for ages 6-12 in outdoor setting

Recreation/Education majors preferred, not required

Starting Rate: $10+ per hour depending on qualifications/experience

Previous experience working with children preferred
