  • West Shore Rec hires program instructors and lifeguards throughout the year.  Prior to the summer season, numerous camp counselors and additional lifeguards are hired as well.

Lifeguards

Lemoyne Outdoor Pool

  • 2024 Summer season:  May 25 - September 2

  • Red Cross certification required

  • Lifeguards ($11+/hr);  Managers ($15+/hr)

Day Camp Counselors - 2024
All positions currently filled for 2024 

Fishing Creek Elementary School

  • Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am-5:15 pm (8-8.5 hour shift)

  • Plan & implement structured activities for ages 6-8 or 9-12  

  • Approximately 40 hours per week, June - August

  • Recreation/Education majors preferred, not required

  • Starting Rate: $13-$14/hour

Summer Blast Counselors - 2024
All positions currently filled for 2024  

Roof Park, Fairview Township

  • Monday thru Friday, 8:45 am-12:15 pm, June 17-August 2

  • Plan & implement structured activities for ages 6-12 in outdoor setting  

  • Recreation/Education majors preferred, not required

  • Starting Rate: $10+ per hour

  • Previous experience working with children preferred

Swim Instructors

West Shore Natatorium (Indoor Pool)

  • Year-round lifeguard and swim instructor positions

  • Red Cross certifications required for lifeguards and swim instructors

  • Lifeguards ($10+ per hour)

  • Swim Instructors - American Red Cross WSI ($12 + per hour)
